7-Day Family Tours Egypt: Cairo, Aswan and Luxor

Your family tours Egypt adventure begins in Cairo. Your private representative meets you inside the airport, helps with passport control, baggage and customs, and takes you to your Cairo hotel to check in.

Spend the morning at the Grand Egyptian Museum, the largest museum in the world for a single civilization, and see the golden mask of Tutankhamun among its treasures. After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the Giza Pyramids, ride a camel in the desert and stand in front of the Sphinx, which joins a human head to a lion body.

An early flight takes you south to Aswan, close to the southern border of Egypt. After checking in, visit the island temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis, then drift along the Nile on a traditional felucca sailboat.

Drive north to Luxor, stopping at Kom Ombo, a temple shared by the crocodile god and the falcon god, and at the museum next to it that displays mummified crocodiles thousands of years old. After checking in at your Luxor hotel, return in the evening to see Luxor Temple, largely built by Ramses II.

On the west bank, enter the Valley of the Kings, with admission to the tombs of Tutankhamun and Ramses VI included. Continue to the temple of Hatshepsut and stop to photograph the Colossi of Memnon. After lunch, visit Karnak, the largest religious complex ever built for a god, dedicated to Amun-Ra.

Fly back to Cairo and visit the Mosque of Ibn Tulun, the oldest mosque in the city still standing in its original form. You can climb the minaret for a view over the old quarter. Then walk Al-Muizz Street, lined with medieval buildings, and explore the lanes of the Khan el-Khalili bazaar before returning to a hotel by the airport.

After breakfast, walk to the international terminal for your flight home.
