Responsible Travel
Our Commitment
At iLuxury Egypt, we believe that luxury and responsibility are not opposites. Every journey we design is built on genuine respect for Egypt, its people, its heritage, and its environment. This page outlines the principles that guide how we operate, and how you can travel thoughtfully alongside us.
Supporting Local Expertise
Every guide we work with is Egyptian. We believe that the richest way to understand Egypt's history and culture is through the people who have lived alongside it their entire lives. Our network of licensed Egyptologist guides brings deep, first-hand knowledge to every temple, tomb, and story we share with you, while ensuring that the value of your journey stays within the communities we visit.
Investing in Local Communities
We partner directly with local artisans and markets across the destinations we operate in, incorporating them into your journey wherever it enriches your experience. Whether it is a visit to a family-run workshop or a curated stop at a trusted local market, these moments are chosen to support Egyptian craftsmanship and livelihoods, not staged for the sake of a photograph.
Respecting Egypt's Heritage
Egypt's monuments and historic sites are irreplaceable, and we ask every traveler in our care to treat them accordingly. Our guides will always brief you on site-specific guidelines, including where photography is permitted, where touching surfaces is discouraged to protect ancient stone and pigment, and how to dress and behave respectfully when visiting religious or sacred sites.
Animal Welfare
We understand that many travelers have concerns about animal welfare during their time in Egypt, particularly around activities such as camel riding. We do not include such activities in your itinerary by default. If you would like to experience one, we are happy to arrange it through operators who meet reasonable welfare standards, but the choice, and the decision to opt out entirely, is always yours.
Traveling Thoughtfully
We encourage every guest to travel with the same care we bring to planning your journey. This includes dressing modestly when visiting mosques, churches, and other religious sites, asking permission before photographing local people, and never purchasing antiquities or artifacts, the trade of which is illegal in Egypt and harms the preservation of the country's heritage.
An Ongoing Commitment
Responsible travel is not a fixed checklist but an ongoing responsibility we take seriously as we grow. We continue to refine how we work with our partners, guides, and the communities we visit, and we welcome your questions or feedback on how we can do this better.
