Private, Egyptologist-led journeys through the Pyramids, Luxor, Aswan and the Nile, planned around your dates and the long journey from home.
Egypt is a long way from Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch, which is exactly why a journey there should be planned with care. You are not going for a long weekend, so every day needs to count once you arrive.
We build each trip around the fact that you are coming from the far side of the world: smooth arrivals, a gentle first day, hotels where you can truly rest, and a private guide and driver who take care of everything on the ground.
Every journey below is private. You travel with your own Egyptologist, stay in five-star hotels and choose how much time you spend in Cairo, Luxor and on the Nile. Hamdy Haggag plans each itinerary personally and replies to messages himself.

There is no direct flight from New Zealand to Egypt. Most travellers connect through Dubai, Doha or Singapore, then fly on to Cairo. Allow 22 to 30 hours door to door, depending on the connection.
We suggest arriving a day early, or choosing a flight that lands in the morning, so the first day is not rushed. If you would rather break up the journey, a stopover in Dubai or Singapore on the way is easy to add.
Egypt is nine to eleven hours behind New Zealand depending on the time of year, so jet lag is real. Our first day is always light on purpose.
The Egyptian winter, from October to April, is the best season for sightseeing. Days are warm and dry rather than hot, which makes Luxor and Aswan far more comfortable.
That timing suits New Zealand well. The December and January school holidays fall in the middle of Egypt's cool season, so a family can swap a summer at home for a winter in the sun. Christmas and New Year are popular, so we recommend booking several months ahead.
From June to August it is very hot in Upper Egypt. If your dates are fixed to those months, we can shape the itinerary around early starts, long midday breaks and a Nile cruise.
Most visitors need a visa for Egypt, and the rules and fees change. Check the current requirements for your passport on the official portal, visa2egypt.gov.eg, before you travel. We are happy to point you to the right option.
Your passport should have at least six months of validity and blank pages. We arrange hotels, transfers, internal flights, entrance fees and guides, so there is very little to organise on your own.
Prices are quoted in US dollars. Tipping is part of daily life in Egypt, and we give you a simple guide in advance so you are never guessing.
Many New Zealanders make the long trip once, so it makes sense to see more. Egypt pairs easily with Jordan for Petra and Wadi Rum, with Dubai on the way, or with a few days on the Red Sea at the end.
Tell us how long you have and we will suggest the best way to use it. A first visit usually works well at 10 to 14 days, with time in Cairo, a Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan, and Abu Simbel.
Share your dates and what matters to you. Hamdy replies personally within five hours.

Private access, new journeys and the best seasons to travel. One thoughtful note a month.
