Luxor Museum and Mummification Museum TourMasterpieces of Thebes
Two small, excellent museums on the Luxor Corniche, ideal for a relaxed afternoon with your Egyptologist.

- Private, 2-8 guests
- Starts
- Your hotel in Luxor
The Luxor Museum and Mummification Museum Tour is a calm, air-conditioned afternoon on the Corniche, and the perfect balance to a morning in the temples.
The Luxor Museum is small but chosen with great care. Your Egyptologist shows you the statues found in 1989 hidden beneath the floor of Luxor Temple, a superb figure of Thutmose III, a wall of decorated blocks from Akhenaten's temple at Karnak, and the royal mummy of Ahmose I, founder of the New Kingdom.
A short drive along the river brings you to the Mummification Museum, which explains how the ancient Egyptians prepared the body for eternity. You see the embalmers' tools, canopic jars, and mummified animals, from cats to crocodiles, and learn why the process took seventy days. Both museums are easy to visit at any age.
