The Karnak Temple Sound and Light Show is the gentlest way to end a day in Luxor, seeing the great temple in a completely different light.
Unlike most shows, this one moves. You walk through the temple behind the voices of the story, past the Avenue of Rams, through the pylons and into the Great Hypostyle Hall, as each part is lit in turn. The narration tells the history of Thebes and the pharaohs who built Karnak.
The second part takes place in seats beside the Sacred Lake, where the whole complex is illuminated against the night sky. Shows run in several languages through the week, so we book the English performance for your date. A private driver takes you there and back, and an assistant stays with you throughout.
Evening Sound and Light at Karnak
Your driver collects you from your hotel in the early evening and takes you to Karnak Temple. Walk through the illuminated avenue, pylons and Great Hypostyle Hall as the first part of the show unfolds, then take your seat beside the Sacred Lake for the finale, with the whole temple lit before you. After the show, your driver takes you back to your hotel. The full evening lasts about three hours.

No. Languages rotate through the week, so we book the English show on a date that fits your stay.
Do we walk during the show?
Yes. The first part is a walk through the temple of about twenty minutes, on flat ground, and the second part is seated.
Should we bring anything?
A light jacket in winter, as evenings in Luxor can be cool.
