A Felucca Ride Aswan is the simplest pleasure in Egypt: a wooden sailboat, the wind, and the granite islands turning gold at sunset.
Your private felucca leaves from the Corniche with its Nubian captain. You sail around Elephantine Island, home to the ancient town of Yebu and its Nilometer, and past the rocks of the First Cataract. On the west bank, the tombs of the nobles look down from the hill, and the Mausoleum of the Aga Khan rises above the desert.
You continue around Kitchener's Island, a botanical garden of tropical plants, and can stop to walk among its trees if you wish. As the sun sets, the captain turns the boat back toward the city lights. Tea and soft drinks are served on board. Feluccas need wind, so on very calm days a motorboat is used instead.

Your driver collects you from your hotel in the late afternoon and takes you to the felucca landing on the Corniche. Sail with your private captain around Elephantine Island and past the First Cataract rocks, with views of the Tombs of the Nobles and the Aga Khan Mausoleum. Continue around Kitchener's Island, with an optional walk in the botanical garden, and return as the sun sets before your driver takes you back to your hotel.

When is the best time for a Felucca Ride Aswan?
The late afternoon, about an hour and a half before sunset, when the light is warm and the wind is usually steady.
Can we visit the Aga Khan Mausoleum?
It is closed to visitors, but you see it clearly from the water during the sail.
What if there is no wind?
