    The Experience

The Abu Simbel Overnight Tour from Aswan is the most rewarding way to see Ramesses II's temples, and the only way to see their Sound and Light Show, which takes place at night.

Your private car leaves Aswan in the afternoon and crosses the desert to Abu Simbel. After checking in to a hotel on the shore of Lake Nasser, you return to the temples after dark, when the facades are lit and the story of Ramesses II and Nefertari is projected onto the stone.

Next morning you are at the temples as they open, often before the day visitors arrive from Aswan. With your Egyptologist you explore the Great Temple and the Temple of Hathor in near silence, as the low sun lights the colossal statues. You return to Aswan by early afternoon.
