The Valley of the Kings Hatshepsut Temple Tour takes you to the West Bank of Luxor, where Egypt's New Kingdom rulers chose to be buried.
In the Valley of the Kings, your Egyptologist chooses three of the best tombs open on the day and explains the texts painted along their corridors, from the Book of the Dead to the journey of the sun through the night. Tombs open in rotation, and the tombs of Tutankhamun and Seti I can be added with their own tickets.
Next is the Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, built in three terraces against the cliffs for one of the few women to rule Egypt as pharaoh. Its reliefs show her famous expedition to the land of Punt. On the way back you stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two seated statues of Amenhotep III that once guarded his vanished temple.

Cross to the West Bank with your Egyptologist early in the morning. Enter three royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings, with the option to add Tutankhamun or Seti I. Continue to the Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari and walk its terraces, then stop at the Colossi of Memnon for photographs. Your driver takes you back to your hotel by early afternoon, before the strongest heat of the day.

How many tombs are included in the Valley of the Kings Hatshepsut Temple Tour?
Three tombs with the standard ticket. Tutankhamun, Seti I and Ramesses V and VI each need a separate ticket, which we can add.
Can we take photos inside the tombs?
Photography without flash is allowed in most tombs with the current ticket rules. Your guide will confirm on the day.
Why start early?
The valley has little shade. Starting early means cooler air and fewer visitors in the tombs.
