There are no balloon flights in Aswan. In Egypt, balloons fly only from Luxor's West Bank, about three hours north of Aswan by road, so this trip takes you there and back in one journey.
Your private car collects you from your hotel or Nile cruise in Aswan during the night, timed so you reach the launch site in Luxor before dawn. While the crew fills the balloons, you enjoy tea, coffee and a light snack, and your pilot gives a short safety briefing.
As the sun rises, you drift for 30 to 45 minutes over the Temple of Hatshepsut, the Colossi of Memnon and the green fields along the Nile, with the hills of the Valley of the Kings behind. After landing you receive your flight certificate, and the same car drives you back to your hotel or cruise in Aswan, where you arrive by late morning.
From Aswan to a Sunrise Balloon Flight in Luxor
Your private driver collects you from your hotel or Nile cruise in Aswan during the night and drives north to Luxor, about three hours. What time do we leave Aswan?
During the night, usually between 1:00 and 2:00 in the morning, depending on the sunrise time in that season. We confirm the exact time the day before.
What happens if the flight is cancelled?
Flights depend on the weather and are confirmed on the morning. If the balloon cannot fly, the flight is moved to another morning or refunded.
Can children join the balloon flight?
Children aged six and over are welcome. Children under six cannot fly.
