The Giza Memphis Sphinx Tour follows the story of the pyramids from its beginning to its peak, in the order it actually happened.
You start at Memphis, the capital of Egypt for much of the pharaonic age, where a colossal statue of Ramesses II lies in the open-air museum beside an alabaster sphinx. A short drive brings you to Saqqara and the Step Pyramid of Djoser, designed by Imhotep and the first monumental stone building in history.
After lunch you reach the Giza Plateau, where that first idea became the Great Pyramid of Khufu. Your Egyptologist guides you around the three pyramids and down to the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple of Khafre, giving you the whole arc of the pyramid age in a single, well-paced day.
Memphis, Saqqara & the Pyramids of Giza
Leave your hotel with your Egyptologist for Memphis and its open-air museum, home to the fallen colossus of Ramesses II and the alabaster sphinx. Continue to Saqqara to see the Step Pyramid of Djoser and its funerary complex, built more than 4,600 years ago. After lunch, drive to the Giza Plateau for the Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple of Khafre before returning to your hotel.
